Laser cutting has many applications in producing metal artifacts such as goldsmithing, logo engraving on decorative products and equipment. In this article, these applications are categorized and explained with a photo.
In general, most applications of lasers in metal engraving and cutting can be categorized into three industries: goldsmithing, advertising along with marking on products and precise cutting of thick sheets. Low power lasers (under 50 watts) are used in both goldsmithing and marking industries. While for cutting the sheets of more than 1 mm thicknesses, depending on the metal material and its thickness, we need high-power lasers of 100 kilowatts to several kilowatts.
